Northstar Private Ski Lessons

slalom ski game

Northstar's private ski lessons for kids are a great option for parents who want to teach their children how to ski or snowboard. The company offers different lessons for children between 3 and 14 years of age.

Northstar's "magic-carpet" lifts help beginners get up the slopes and down it quickly. The variety of lessons offered by Northstar is impressive, from station teaching for those who prefer to learn at their pace to skill clinics designed for advanced skiers or snowboarders.

There are also some great beginner runs on the mountain. Intermediates can find some challenging runs here. And for expert skiers, there are plenty of steep and technical descents that will keep even the most seasoned pro entertained.

Resort amenities include a Village, which has restaurants and shops. There's also an ice skating rink and a movie theater with a first-run movie every day. There's also a tube hill near the ice-rink up the mountain, as well as a spa offering massages, Yoga, and other spa treatment in the Village.

A stargazing tour is a family favorite. You can take a guided tour of the night skies while you're on a snowshoeing trip or watching a movie. You can also take a dog-sled tour or go snowmobiling.

Northstar can also provide child care for those traveling with young children. Northstar's Minor's Camp Child Care provides licensed daycare for children from 2 to 6 years old.

The resort also offers ice-skating, snow-tubing, and an IMAX theater showing first-run movie releases. There's also a small library and a few bars, and the Village has a full menu of restaurants and shops.

Hotel Accommodations

Booking rooms or condominiums in the Village is easy. But, if more privacy is desired or you'd like to be closer the slopes you can check out mid-mountain accommodations such as the RitzCarlton Northstar and the Northstar Hotel. You'll need to park your car in the Village's parking garage or in the lot at the hotel.

You should arrive early at Northstar in order to secure a space in the garage. On busy weekends, the resort's parking lot fills up quickly. Be sure to allow enough time to get a spot and hit the slopes before crowds arrive.

Learn to Sing in Groups for Beginners and Intermediates

Northstar offers half day group lessons to kids of any age who are not quite ready for full-day skiing. Unlike many of the other Tahoe ski resorts, this one still teaches children as young as 3.

However, these group classes are not without limitations. The maximum number of students in the group lesson is six at any one time. Also, groups can have no more than two instructors. These group lessons are more expensive than privates, but they're a great way to save money if your child has limited time on the mountain. You can cancel group lessons up to 48-hours before they start and get a full reimbursement.

Here are some basic tips to help you plan your next vacation.

  1. It is best to book early. The earlier you book, the lower the prices. You can also save money by not taking advantage of last-minute deals offered to you by hotels or airlines.
  2. Stay-at-budget accommodations. You get more for your money in cheap hotels. They are located near shopping and public transportation.
  3. Don't overpack. Be light. Keep room for souvenirs. Wear clothes that fit well, and don't wrinkle easily.
  4. Use common sense. If you're traveling alone, don't walk around late at night. Avoid unsavory neighborhoods and areas where crime is rampant.
  5. Protect your valuables from theft. Keep valuables out of sight. Don't leave anything valuable behind when you go swimming.
  6. Cash is a dangerous thing. Tourists living in foreign cities are often the target of thieves. Keep your money out of view and use ATMs inside banks or guarded facilities.
  7. Know your stuff. Before booking a hotel, ensure you know how to get around using public transport. You can find out more about popular attractions, restaurants, or other sights.
